This is our History

 The origins...

Automotive artist David "Static" Kedrow was born near Detroit Michigan in 1982. Ever since he could hold a crayon, he was drawing cars, and trucks on anything he could find, including sometimes walls and furniture...

While in middle school, his art teacher entered a drawing of a 1978 Dodge Lil Red Express into the Mt. Clemens Art Museum. He won his age/class for black and white rendering. This was the first award he received and sparked an interest in becoming a car designer.

In high school, he and a group of 4 others entered the Chrysler Corporation/Enterprise Learning "Build Your Dream Vehicle" contest. After many different concept sketches, demographic research, and accumulated knowledge on alternative fuels, He was responsible for designing a 4-door, front engine V8, rear wheel drive muscle car that used a Chrysler 4.7L engine converted to run on natural gas instead of other sources such as electric or hydrogen. The goal for his design toward Chrysler and the Dodge brand was to achieve a 40-50 mpg high output V8 engine.

Though the aspirations of fuel economy were a bit dreamy, This didn't stop Chrysler from reaching out and awarding him and the group around him.

This concept car would eventually become the #2 selling 4 door sedan in the United States as the Dodge Charger.

Moving to Dallas Texas in 2006 to seek out a future in motorsports and racing, David founded "X-Static Dallas Concepts"

X-Static Dallas Concepts??

X-Static Dallas Concepts found success in and around the DFW metroplex. Walking into local car shops, and shaking hands at car shows, David was able to build up a solid reputation with the local car scene, such as custom Viper builders MuscleHead INC where he would grow to become the exclusive designer. Eventually in 2009, this led to him getting a phone call from RWR Motorsports founder Robbie Williams giving him his start to many years in professional motorsports and racing. Primarily in the Monster Truck industry having worked for pinnacle teams, such as Sudden Impact Racing, Abused Trucks, and Monster Jam.

In 2010 David sustained critical injuries to his spine in a racing accident, ultimately causing him to retire from racing full-time in 2015. Though he still to this day gets involved with racing on a part time basis, he relocated back to the Detroit area in 2017 after learning of his uncles death, heart conditions with his grandmother, and shortly after learning of this, his mother received a breast cancer diagnosis, he felt he had no choice but to go be with his family.

After his grandmothers, and his mothers recoveries, David decided it was time to get back to his passion in motorsports, and design. His first time back in the seat, he sustained more life long injuries due to transmission fluid suddenly igniting, and being burned while still in the truck ...he was able to escape the truck before emergency vehicles came, but not without heavy burn damage to his legs.

After recovering from his injuries, in October of 2019 X-Static Detroit Concepts was founded, he had no idea what was about to happen with his brand and beloved studio.

X-Static Detroit Concepts...

David decided to go to his local art supply store, and purchase a basic art set, and a single pad of drawing paper. He then went home and sat down to draw his personal truck. A flame red 1995 Dodge Dakota SLT. After completing this drawing, he then posted it in a Facebook group with little hope anything would come of it. The next morning he had enough inquiries to keep him booked for months! He then started drawing a few other types of cars, and following the success of his original posts, was booked for the entire year. The following years proved no change to this work flow. His work became high demand. He became known for his free hand drawing approach to automotive design, through many videos on platforms such as TikTok and Reels developing over 40k followers in the first 3 months alone!

Now holding accounts for race teams, custom shops, and private collectors, X-Static Detroit Concepts has turned into a global brand!

In November of 2022...David met the love of his life, and now business partner Jamie Needham. Together they have made a presence in the local Detroit car scene, and frequently pop up at different car shows, cruises, and custom shops between Detroit, Ann Arbor, Jackson, and Lansing. They cruise to these shows in a car they named "Artie" (because of the R/T badging on the sides) and can frequently be found being the goofballs that they are at these events.

David and Jamie were able to get everything focused on brand building together, as well as registering the DBA X-Static Detroit Concepts, under Static Ventures LLC.

What they have achieved together as a team has been no small feat. X-Static Detroit Concepts is now an ever evolving global brand, that has caught the attention of legendary names in the business like Jack Roush!

Together, the X-Static team will continue to grow and evolve. David does not offer digital art or photoshop work, David and Jamie feel the X-Static Detroit Concepts name means something to them, and their clients alike...

What it means of course is simple...
