1. The Vision

David starts with the client's vision. Every build or design begins with a consult. We learn about your style, we talk about your car, and the story you want it to tell. This 1st step is the groundwork that lays the foundation for everything that follows

2. The Concept
​
We start with initial sketches to refine the ideas, concepts at this stage are quick sketched on paper to capture the stance and personality. This is where our creativity comes together and runs wild, as we explore multiple directions before narrowing down to a signature look.

3. The Refinement
Once David and the client choose the concept direction, we refine and render it. This is where the pages turn to David Kedrow and the X-Static brand, over other design studios. Statics 100% freehand, no stencil, no straight edge approach to rendering your car...ensures the instant identity of the art...and perfection of flowing lines on every car we put to paper. The idea is simple...Because of a cars shape around windows, wheels, and doors, David famously says "Theres no such thing as a straight line on a car". This philosophy is how X-Static Detroit Concepts makes a rendering look and feel alive...Instead of flat...and forced.
4. The Details

David Kedrows specialty, A proprietary and secret color layering process that belongs to David, and David alone. A multi-medium color layering process begins here. Our clients say our colors stand out from the rest due to metallic depth, chrome and paint reflections, and accent color jumps surrounding the subject. This is all done by using the natural flow of the cars curves and lines...He does not add highlights with paint...He uses a natural light flow process that is exclusive to X-Static Detroit Concepts. Davids color process was not learned...It was invented.
5. The Feedback​

David provides constant updates throughout the design process. This can include questions over particular details, video updates showing and talking through the last leg of the rendering, and phone consults. Whether he is given the full creative freedom...or sticking to a strict concept...David doesn't assume, he shows step by step videos looking for the clients feedback on the subjects direction.

6. The Grand Finale
​
The final piece is finished with subtle highlights and low lights, then carefully prepared for shipment or onsite presentation. You will receive the 22x30 inch detailed renderings, However many you choose, along with the "napkin" concepts. Every line that hit the paper is given to the client. Along with certificates of authenticity tied to your concepts investment. Which you can keep for your collection or pass on to your client.

Beyond the Paper...
1. Every design and rendering we do has a purpose. Whether it's a custom build, show car, or a collectors art piece, our designs inspire real-world creations and carry name X-Static Detroit Concepts with pride, and authenticity. One-of-a-kind masterpiece, investment grade renderings created by hand, in David and Jamies beloved studio, X-Static Detroit Concepts.

2. David and Jamie are not here to sell you "car art". We are here to turn visions into reality, and provide you a certified piece of automotive history...Thats exclusively yours, and yours alone.
3. We provide ability to transfer rights of the artwork. Though the copyright will always be held by X-Static Detroit Concepts, every concept design is provided with a written letter to duplicate at will. This means you can use it for shirts, sell prints, or put in publications. If you are duplicating artwork for profit, there is a fee that is calculated from a percentage of the final cost of the project. Not including travel costs if there any in the contract.

4. If needed, David and Jamie will come to your shop for the initial consultation. We will begin our process in your shop, anywhere in the lower 48 States. Our travel rates are simple. $5.00 per mile up to 500 miles, and $3.75 per mile any distance further. Travel expenses will be quoted from address to address. May vary depending on length of stay. Any stay longer than 2 days will require an additional fee of $350.00 per day to cover expenses. These fees do not include the cost of design work...However in most cases, will cover the cost of concept consultation.
5. Because of the exclusive nature of this process, We have limited bookings per year. This, is an opportunity for both X-Static Detroit Concepts, and our clients, to grow together and expand portfolios. While at the clients shop or residence, we document the entire process start to finish for all major social media platforms, gaining exposure at no additional cost for both parties.
